Can the arts inspire action on climate change? Come to this timely conversation with climate scientists James Renwick and Craig Stevens with facilitator Sarah Meads and Te Tai Tokerau artists BJ Natanahira (Te Aupouri, Te Rarawa), Emma McLean; Dan Mace (Ngaiterangi, Ngati Maru ki Hauraki) and Rona Ngahuia Osborne.
We live in an increasingly hot, yet less equal world, in which climate impacts disproportionately affect those most vulnerable. Scientists tell us we have a critical window in which to act to prevent climate events that may be beyond civilisation’s capacity to adapt. The urgent need for far reaching social, economic and technological responses is not being matched by action.
Thus, come and learn about the very latest climate science and be inspired by creative projects that help us to understand and care about our planet. This timely conversation will be about how the arts can contribute to how we adapt to climate impacts and shape New Zealand's carbon neutral future. You will be able to contribute to the conversation and explore how more can be done, working with the power of the arts to inspire climate action - the biggest cultural challenge of our time.
