Our event submission policy
What kind of events will we promote?
The events must be open to the public. This can include events that require registration or RSVP, or events tailored to a specific demographic (e.g. children, teenagers).
Events funded or supported under A Nation of Curious Minds – He Whenua Hihiri i te Mahara and/or contribute towards the goal of this strategic plan . However they must still be open to the public (e.g. talks/shows from participants of funded projects , conferences, citizen science activities).
Events relating to science, technology, engineering, maths (STEM) and mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge). Broad and diverse involvement of STEM is encouraged! For example, events that combine STEM with arts/humanities (e.g. science and art, music and technology, maths and poetry, engineering and cooking).
The events must be non-profit and serve to educate and inspire people to thinking more broadly about STEM. Exceptions will only be if the public benefit substantially outweighs any profit the organiser gains and at our discretion.
We will not promote the following
Events that do not include either science, technology, engineering, maths (STEM) or mātauranga Māori (Māori(traditional Māori knowledge) in some form.
Events that are private. Events that are closed to a specific adult professional group ( e.g. teachers, scientists, science communicators) will only be promoted if they support the goal of the strategic plan .
Events that are run purely for commercial interests (e.g. brand launch for a tech company).
Any exceptions will be at our discretion.
