What have you ever wondered about? How about: how do painkillers work and is there some other use for them? How can we stop species from becoming extinct? Are there giant vacuums we can build to suck up all the CO2 and solve global warming?
The Catalyst Science Competition (CSC) will see high school students from across New Zealand create their own research question, conduct an experiment and then present their investigation to a panel of esteemed judges in Auckland. The theme this year is Sustainability.
CSC is a new initiative designed by youth to encourage New Zealand students to be more involved in the science field at a high school level. The competition hopes to inspire the innovators of tomorrow by giving them the opportunity to create their own scientific explorations, and critically solve larger scientific issues at both regional and national levels.
